Career Roadmap

Our Methodology

How Roadmaps Are Built

Each career roadmap is structured around six experience levels: Intern, Junior, Mid-Level, Senior, Lead, and Consultant. Skills at each level are curated based on industry job postings, professional community input, and established curriculum frameworks. We prioritize skills that appear consistently across multiple sources and geographies.

Skill Selection Criteria

  • Frequency of mention in job descriptions from major platforms
  • Alignment with university curricula and professional certifications
  • Relevance to current industry tools and frameworks
  • Progression logic: Each level builds on the previous

Career Quiz Scoring

The career quiz uses a weighted tag matching system. Each answer contributes to a profile of tags (e.g., analytical, creative, technical). Each career has a predefined tag weight map. Your final score is the weighted overlap between your profile and each career's tag map, normalized as a percentage.

Salary & Demand Data

Salary ranges and demand levels are approximate and based on publicly available data from sources like Glassdoor, LinkedIn Salary Insights, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. These figures are intended as general guidance and will vary by region, company size, and individual qualifications.

Limitations

  • Roadmaps represent one possible path. Career progression is rarely linear
  • Technology and industry needs evolve. Content may lag behind the latest trends
  • Quiz results are indicative, not definitive. Use them as a starting point
  • Regional differences in job markets are not fully captured

Updates

We aim to review and update roadmap content periodically. Each career page includes a content date stamp indicating when the roadmap was last reviewed.
